From Bricklaying to the Classroom
Abdulrokeeb, once a child bricklayer forced to work for festive clothes, was visited by Vision Light after they tracked down his family; the team supplied his school needs and enrolled him, helping him and over 50 classmates stay in school by September 2023.

We met Abdulrokeeb in December 2022, barefoot and carrying blocks at a church construction site. He was just a child, working as a bricklayer to raise money for festive clothes. No child should have to trade their childhood for survival.
Something about him struck us. We got his mother's contact and visited their home in Ila Orangun, Osun State, just a few weeks later. His story was real. His dreams were valid. So we took the first step: we provided basic school supplies and enrolled him in school.
By September 2023, not only was Abdulrokeeb still in school, but we also supported over 50 of his classmates with school materials.
